A Collection of Gnostic Dream Yoga and Astral Travel Practices

Dream Yoga Practice (Astral)

Learn to use your imagination and will, united in vibrant harmony Lying in your bed or seated in a comfortable chair, imagine a well-known faraway place (a house, a park, an avenue, a city, etc.) and lull yourself to sleep with that image in your mind. When you find yourself falling asleep with that image in your mind, make that image real; forget the place where your body is; put the force of will into play and, full of confidence in yourself walk through the imagined place. Walk in the imagined place as if you were there in flesh and bones. If the practice is done correctly, you will unfold and your soul will be transported to that place and you will be able to see and hear everything that happens there.

-Introduction to Gnosis, Samael Aun Weor

Aztec Prayer to the Divine Mother (Astral)

Meditate upon her before falling asleep. Start your dreaming process by repeating daily with great faith the following:

“Tonantzin, Teteoinan!, Divine Mother, come unto to me, come unto to me!”

-Gnostic Prayer Book, Samael Aun Weor

THE STILL SMALL VOICE (Astral)

There exists a particular mystical sound that the yogi must learn to hear. The Aztecs knew this mystical sound. Let us remember the hill of Chupullepec (The hill of the cricket) In ancient Rome, during the time of the Caesars, the cricket was sold in golden cages at a very high price. Magicians of ancient Rome bought crickets in order to employ them in practical magic. If we have the cricket close to the head of our bed when we are meditating on its beautiful song, we will hear the ‘slill voice ‘ in the instant of slumber. This phenomenon is equivalent to the phenomenon of two pianos that are equally tuned. If we play for example, the note TI on either piano, the other piano will repeat the same note without the touch of the human hand. This vibratory phenomenon is very interesting, and it can be proven by anyone. This exact phenomenon also happens with the mysterious sound of the cricket. There exists in the human brain the music sound that resounds when the cricket sings. It is a matter of affinity and vibration. Whosoever hears the ‘still voice ‘ can travel instantly into the astral plane at any time. If the devotee concentrates on the sound of the cricket, or if the Yogi meditates on the sound of the cricket and goes to sleep while listening to the sound of the cricket, suddenly the same mystic sound, tone or ‘still voice ‘ will resound within his brain, and the doors of mystery will then be opened. During this instant, the Gnostic can rise from bed naturally and depart from his home in the astral body. Every devotee must learn how to hear the ‘still voice’. The devotee can perform marvelous wonders and prodigies with this mystical sound. If the devotee wants to hear this mystical sound his concentration must be perfect. To begin with, the student will hear many sounds, yet, if he concentrates intensively on the sound of the cricket, eventually he will hear this sound and will attain victory. We inevitably attain illumination with this mystical sound. With the grace of the Divine Mother, every devotee can have the joy of hearing the mystical sound that grants us the instantaneous projection of the astral body. The devotee who wishes to perform these practices with success must meditate internally until he truly feels the state of slumber. You must know that every esoteric exercise of meditation, if practiced with a lack of the sleepy state, is useless, sterile, because it damages the mind and harms the brain. Therefore, internal meditation must be intelligently combined with the sleepy state. If the Gnostic student does not have this marvelous cricket when practicing this exercise, then he must pronounce the letter ‘S’. This letter must be pronounced like a fine and delicate whistle, like this: ssssssssssssssssssss (lips opened and upper and lower teeth together). Behind this fine sound dwells the ‘still voice ‘ that permits us to project instantaneously in astral body. The devotee should be in a very comfortable position in order to practice correct internal meditation. We suggest two positions:

POSITION OF THE CORPSE

Lay down in corpse position on the bed or floor, placing arms against the sides of the body. Straighten the legs and bring the heels of the feet together so they are touching. However, the toes of the feet should be separated towards the left and right, like a fan.

POSITION OF FLAMING STAR

Lay down in the position of a flaming star with the arms and legs extended towards the right and left. Our bodies must be very relaxed. We should resemble the figure of the five pointed star. This is the position of the Master. Great Masters utilize this position for the practice of internal meditation…

-The Yellow Book, Samael Aun Weor

Symbol of the Infinite/The Holy Eight (Astral)

The sacred symbol of the infinite the Holy Eight encompasses, defines and joins the magnetic currents of the Superior Mind (consciousness in the dream) with the currents of the InferiorMind (vigil consciousness). This sign joins or separates all of the elements ruled by the atomic energy.

PRACTICE:

Trace the sacred symbol of the infinite  the Holy Eight with the middle finger, index finger and the thumb over the cardiac plexus. Withdraw from your mind all types of thoughts, imagine now the Holy Eight as it is represented in the following graphic:

Allow the figure to submerge itself within your consciousness and go to sleep. Imagine your mind as a blank screen without thinking of anything. Thus after a while, you will awaken your consciousness in the Astral Body.

Divine Mother Invocation to Instruct in the Great Mysteries (Astral)

Brothers and sisters, pray and meditate a great deal to your Divine Mother Kundalini as follows:

INVOCATION:

“Oh Isis! Mother of the Cosmos, root of Love, trunk, bud, leaf, flower and Seed of all that exists;

we conjure Thee, naturalizing force. We call upon the Queen of Space and of the Night, and kissing her loving eyes, drinking the dew from her lips, breathing the sweet aroma of her body, we exclaim: Oh Thou, Nut! Eternal Seity of heaven, who art the primordial Soul, who art what was and what shall be,

whose veil no mortal has lifted, when Thou art beneath the irradiating stars of the nocturnal and profound sky of the desert, with purity of heart and in the flame of the serpent, we call upon Thee!”

Pray and meditate intensely. The Divine Mother teaches her children. This Prayer must be performed while combining Meditation with the state of slumber. Then as in visions of dreams, illumination emerges; thus the Divine Mother approaches the devotee in order to instruct him in the great mysteries.

Practice for Seeing and Hearing the Great Internal Realities (Astral)

The Lord's Prayer is the most perfect prayer because it has Seven Magical Petitions.

  1. "Our Father, who art in heaven,
  2. Hallowed be thy name.
  3. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
  4. Give us this day our daily bread,
  5. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
  6. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
  7. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen."

PRACTICE

Asana:

the student must lie down on the floor on a mat [a meditation or yoga mat].

The student can spread out his/her arms and legs to each side until the five pointed star is formed.

Relax all of your body, do not think about anything, set the screen of your mind to be blank,

concentrate your mind on your Inner God and start praying the Lord’s Prayer extremely slowly, and reflect on the sense of each petition.

Become drowsy, to reach a profoundly sleeping state while meditating upon each word, upon each phrase, worshiping… worshiping… worshiping…

The student must not move upon waking up… be motionless and practice a retrospective exercise in order to remember the internal experiences: remember where you were, what places you visited while in the Astral Space, what was done, what was seen, etc.

This practice must be performed as a daily habit without ever becoming weary. Seeing and hearing the great internal realities must be the goal.

The ‘Direct Key’ for the Direct Knowledge (Astral)

Practice for The Divine Mother to take you out of your body to Different departments of the kingdom to study the Sephiroth of Kabbalah directly. It is necessary to directly know the twelve spheres of universal vibration, where all of the beings of the universe develop and live.

The disciple must concentrate on the Chakra of the heart, which is where the Cosmic Divine Mother abides. The disciple must beseech the Sephirah, the Mother of the Sephiroth; begging her to take him out from his physical body and take him to the different departments of the kingdom in order to study the Sephiroth of Kabbalah directly.

The disciple must pray and meditate abundantly on the Divine Mother while mentally vocalizing the following Kabbalistic Mantras:

"Lifaros – Lifaros – Licanto – Ligoria"

Vocalize these mantras by syllabifying them. If you carefully observe the intelligent phonetic

structure of these mantras, you will see the three vowels I.A.O. of the Great Mysteries.

I.A.O. is hidden and combined in these sacred Mantras of Kabbalah. The disciple must become drowsy while mentally vocalizing these four Kabbalistic mantras. It is necessary to practice a retrospective exercise when awakening from our normal sleep; this is in order to remember what we have seen and

heard during the dream.

- Esoteric Course of Kabbalah, Samael Aun Weor

Astral Departures (Astral)

Daily exercise: Any time that you are at your work, in the street, in your house, in the presence of a strange thing, or in front of a person whom you have not seen for a long time, ask yourself: “Am I in the Astral Body?”

Then, perform a small jump and if you float it is because you are within your Astral Body. Thus, you can fly and direct yourself to any place in the world. If you do not float, it is because you are within your body of flesh and bones.

When one practices this exercise during the day, then it is repeated during one’s dreams and the result is that the consciousness awakens and experiences a lucid dream. One becomes aware that one is out of the physical body in the Astral World.

Remember Dreams (Astral)

After returning to the body we wake up in our bed. Many disciples commit the mistake of moving in the bed in the precise moment of waking up from the normal sleep. With this movement, the astral body is agitated and the memories are lost. When awakening in his bed, the student of Occultism must not move! We must remain still, close our eyes and make a retrospective exercise to meticulously remember all those places we were at with our astral body, all the words we heard, what we said, etc.

-Esoteric Treaty of Theurgy, Samael Aun Weor

Development of Oneiric Memory (Astral)

You need memory to remember your internal experiences. Do not spill the semen. Know that in the semen are millions of microscopic brain cells. You must not lose those cells.

SPECIAL FOOD TO DEVELOP THE POWER OF MEMORY

Prepare your breakfast with acidic fruit and ground almonds with bee honey. In this way you provide the brain with the necessary atoms for the memory.

INTERNAL EXPERIENCES

While the body sleeps, the ego lives in the internal worlds and travels to different places. In the internal worlds we are tested many times. We receive initiation in the internal temples. It becomes necessary to remember everything that we do outside the body. With the instructions given in this book every human being will be able to awaken consciousness and remember his internal experiences. It is painful to know that there are many Initiates who work in the Great Temples of the White Lodge whilst their physical body sleeps, and yet they do not remember anything because their memory is atrophied.

-Perfect Matrimony, Samael Aun Weor

Retrospective Exercise and Mantra RAOM-GAOM (Astral)

Upon waking from normal sleep, every Gnostic student should do a retrospective exercise on the process of sleep, to remember all those places he visited during the hours of sleep. We already know that the ego travels a great deal, going to where we have been, repeating all that we saw and heard. The Masters instruct their disciples when out of the physical body.

It is urgent to know how to meditate profoundly and then practice what we learned during the hours of sleep. It is necessary not to move at the time of awakening because with this movement the astral is agitated and the memories are lost. It is urgent to combine the retrospective exercises with the following mantra: RAOM – GAOM.

Each word is divided into two syllables. One should accentuate the vowel O. This mantra is for the student what dynamite is for the miner. Just as the miner opens a way through the bowels of the earth with the aid of dynamite, so also, the student opens a way to the memories of the subconscious with the aid of this mantra.

-Perfect Matrimony, Samael Aun Weor

Practice with Morpheus (Astral)

He will get into bed, and having turned off all the lights, will lay on his back with his eyes closed and place both hands on his solar plexus.

He will be totally quiet for some time, and, once he is completely relaxed, physically as well as mentally, he will concentrate on Morpheus, the god of sleep.

Unquestionably, each part of our Real Being has specific tasks. It is precisely Morpheus (do not confuse with Orpheus) who is in charge of training us in the mysteries of sleep.

It is impossible to trace a layout of our Being. Nevertheless, all the spiritual, isolated parts of the Being want to achieve absolute perfection in their tasks.

Morpheus enjoys this unique opportunity with which we provide him when we concentrate on him.

We must know how to supplicate and have faith. We have to ask Morpheus to teach us and to awaken us in the supra sensitive worlds.

By this time, the esotericist Gnostic feels a very special somnolence, and he then adopts the “lion posture.”

Lying on his right side, with his head pointing north, he moves his legs slowly so that his knees are bent. In this posture, the left leg rests on top of the right one. He then places his right cheek on his right palm, and lets his left arm rest on the left leg.

-The Secret Doctrine of Anahuac, Samael Aun Weor

The Particular Keynote (Astral)

In an almost imperceptible manner, a keynote always resounds within the brain of every living being. That keynote is that of the ray to which each person belongs and seems to come from the cells of the cerebellum. Some hear the sound of small flutes of the Egyptian ray; others will hear the “gong” of the Oriental ray, others the roaring of the sea, of the lunar ray, etc.

If the disciple silences all his thoughts in the calm of the night, he will hear his keynote; then he can cause that note to vibrate loudly, with will and when the note is already so loud that it invades and semi-paralyzes the entire physical body, the disciple should get out of bed and betake himself to the Gnostic Church for the Masters of the White Brotherhood will receive him there with incomparable happiness.

-Zodiacal Course, Samael Aun Weor

Mantra EGIPTO (Astral)

Our disciples must acquire the power of Astral Body projection. This power is acquired by vocalizing daily for an hour the sacred mantra Egipto. The vowel “E” makes the thyroid gland vibrate and grants the initiate the power of the occult ear. The “G” awakens the chakra of the liver, and when this chakra has reached its full development, then, the initiate can enter and leave the Physical Body any time at will. The vowel “I,” combined with the letter “P,” develops Clairvoyance in the initiate, and the power to depart in the Astral Body through the window of Brahma, which is the pineal gland. Pronounce the letter “T” with force over the vowel “O, “ which is intimately related with the chakra of the heart; this is how the initiate can acquire the power to project the self through this plexus and thus travel in his Astral Body.

The correct pronunciation of this mantra is as follows: EEEEEEGGGGGGGIIIIIIIIPPPPPPPTTTTOOOOOOOO

Those who still do not have the ability to project themselves in the Astral Body with our clues, lack this power. Therefore, they must first acquire it by vocalizing daily for one hour the mantra Egipto. This mantra develops the chakras related with the projection of the Astral Body completely. This is how the disciple acquires the power of entering and leaving the Physical Body at will. Once the power for astral projection is acquired, the disciple will enter and leave the Physical Body at will.

-The Seven Words, Samael Aun Weor

Mantra LA RA and the Anahat sound (Astral)

The human being can travel to any place in the world or in the infernos with his Astral Body. The key in order to consciously travel with the Astral Body is the following: Laying down on his bed, face up, the disciple must fall sleep while vocalizing the syllables “LA” “RA”.

The student will independently vocalize each syllable, that is to say, each syllable with a separate breath, as follows: LLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAA……RRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAA

The vocalization of these two sacred syllables must be done mentally.

These two syllables have the power of making the sexual energy intensely vibrate. Thus, the disciple must fall asleep while vocalizing with tranquility in his bed. Thus, this is how the sexual energies, the creative energies of the Third Logos begin to vibrate when the student vocalizes these two syllables.

These type of energies produce a sweet and subtle sound when they are intensely vibrating. This sound is similar to that of the cricket. The student must learn how to handle this sound, as this is the subtle voice which grants us the power to consciously travel with our Astral Body.

-Message of Aquarius, Samael Aun Weor

Meditation on the “Ursa Major” (Meditation-Astral)

Ursa Major is also known as the Great Bear and is a constellation in the northern celestial hemisphere.

Ancient men grew spiritually under the influence of the “Ursa Major” and students should meditate intensely on the ‘Ursa Major’ if they want to awaken consciousness. That constellation radiates powerful spiritual forces and man should learn to converse with the sidereal Geni of that constellation.

There is a key to transfer oneself to that constellation. The key is to meditate profoundly on a “yellow stone” that exists in the astral. Do this exercise in the moments of transition between vigil and sleep and thou shall then transfer thyself in the astral body to the largest star of the ‘Ursa Major’, where a powerful and gigantic civilization exists.

-Zodiacal Course, Samael Aun Weor

Self-Remembering (Psychology and Self Knowledge-Astral)

Gnostic students must remember themselves while in the presence of any kind of interesting representation, one must remember oneself and ask oneself the following questions: Where am I? What am I doing here? Could I be out of my physical body?

Then, carefully observe everything surrounding you; observe well the sky with inquisitive eyes; any kind of detail from the internal worlds; be it a set of foreign colors, be it a strange animal, the beloved shadow of a deceased person, ect., this will conform that you are out of your physical body; the you will awaken the Consciousness. It becomes very useful, in those instants of reflection and self-remembering, to hop with the intention of floating in that environment. It is logical that if we float it is because we are out of our physical body.

If all the dormants, while sleeping, ask themselves such  reflective questions, it is logical that they would awaken consciousness. If the ego, after death, asks itself such questions in the presence of any representation, then it would awaken instantly. Unfortunately, the ego never thinks about those questions because during its life it has never had the custom of questioning itself. It is necessary to grasp this custom and to live it intensely. Only in this way, can we conceive of the idea of asking ourselves such questions while sleeping and after death. The result of this practice is the awakening of the consciousness. Anyone who awakens their consciousness may become clairvoyant. Anyone who awakens the consciousness lives fully awakened in the Superior worlds while the physical body sleeps. The Great Masters do not dream.

-Esoteric Course of Kabbalah, Samael Aun Weor

S.O.L. Key (Psychology and Self Knowledge)

We have to awaken, and learn to live alert from moment to moment, from instant to instant. The action of always dividing attention into three parts cannot be delayed.

First ………… Subject

Second …….. Object

Third .………. Location

SUBJECT: Do not forget ourselves, watch ourselves at each second, at each moment. This implies a state of alertness in relation to our thoughts, gestures, actions, emotions, habits, words, etc.

To not fall into the forgetting of oneself before any representation.

OBJECT: Minute observation of all those objects or representations that reach the mind through the senses. Never become identified with things, because in this manner one falls into fascination and into the sleep of consciousness.

To observe everything, every representation, every fact, every event no matter how insignificant the latter may seem, in detail, without forgetting oneself.

LOCATION: Daily observation of our house, of our bedroom, as if it was something new, asking ourselves daily: Why have I arrived at this place? At this market? In this office? In this temple? etc.

The rigorous observation of the place where we may be, ask ourselves, “What place is this? Why am I here?” Within this Place factor, we should include the dimensional issue, since it could be the case that we are really in the fourth or in the fifth dimension of nature during the moment of observation; let us remember that nature has seven dimensions. The law of gravity reigns in the three-dimensional world. The Law of Levitation exists within the superior dimensions of nature. Upon observing a place, we should never forget the matter of the seven dimensions of nature; it is convenient, therefore, to ask ourselves: “In what dimension am I? Then, it is necessary, in the way of verification, to take the highest possible jump with the intention of floating in the surrounding atmosphere. It is logical that if we float it is because we are outside of the physical body. We should never forget that when the physical body sleeps, the Ego with the Lunar Bodies and the Essence within, unconsciously ambulates like a somnambulist in the Molecular World. The Division of Attention into Subject, Object and Place, leads to the awakening of Consciousness. After becoming accustomed to this exercise, to this Division of Attention into three parts, to these questions, to this little jump, etc., many Gnostic students ended up practicing the same exercise during the sleep of the physical body, when they were really in the superior worlds and when they made the famous experimental jump, they floated delightfully in the surrounding atmosphere; they then awoke Consciousness, they then remembered that the physical body had remained asleep in the bed and full of joy they were able to dedicate themselves to the study of the mysteries of life and death in the superior dimensions.

-Hermetic Astrology, Samael Aun Weor

These three aspects of the division of attention in no way constitute a chapter set apart, nor something different from the process of the dissolution of the “I”.

Undoubtedly we need to study ourselves, to observe ourselves from moment to moment, if we really want to discover our own psychological defects; since as we have said in relating with our fellowmen, the hidden defects spontaneously, naturally flower.

It is not a matter of merely self-observing the steps we take, nor the forms of the body, etc. The vigilance of oneself implies the silent and serene study of all our inner psychological processes, emotions, passions, thoughts, words, etc.

The observation of things without identification will allow us to know the processes of covetousness, attachments, ambition, etc.

It is irrefutable that for a covetous person, it will entail a lot of work to not become identified with a diamond ring or with a few dollar bills from the bank, etc.

Observation of places will allow us to know how extensive our attachments and fascination are in relation to diverse places.

This triple set of attention is then a complete exercise to self discover ourselves and to awaken consciousness.

-Yes there is Hell, Yes there is Evil, Yes there is Karma, Samael Aun Weor

Mantra FE UIN DAGJ (Astral-Meditation)

Liver chakra serves for astral projections. The Astral Body is connected to the liver. Anyone who awakens the chakra of the liver can enter and leave the physical body at will. The spleen and liver chakra and the solar plexus are developed with Egyptian mantra FE UIN DAGJ. It is sung to the note Mi, developing the three chakras and lungs.

Note. The correct way to pronounce this mantra is: FFFFFEEEEE… UUUUUIIIIINNNNN… DAAAAAGJJJJJ…

 - Tarot and Kabbalah, Samael Aun Weor

Retrospective Exercise of our Past Lives (Meditation- Psychology and Self Knowledge-Astral)

The key to remembering our past lives is in the retrospective exercise.

The disciple submerged in profound meditation should carry out a retrospective recapitulation of all the events that have occurred in his lives, from the present to the past.

The disciple should try to remember all transpired events in a reverse order, beginning with the last ones until going back to the first events of his infancy.

We can remember all memories of our infancy by practicing the retrospective exercise during those instants of dozing off.

In those instants we can exert ourselves to recall the last experiences of our past reincarnation. So, in a retrospective order, we can review our entire past and past reincarnations.

The important thing is to practice this retrospective exercise during instants of dozing.

Like this, in visions in our sleep, we shall remember all our past lives.

-Manual of Practical Magic, Samael Aun Weor

Meditation with Mantra PROWEOA (Meditation-Astral)

This exercise enables us to perceive what exists in the Internal Worlds, in any Plane: Physical, Astral, Mental, etc.

When the student needs to urgently perceive something clairvoyantly, he will go into profound, internal mediation, while vocalizing this Mantra: PROWEOA

The vocalization will be done by prolonging the sound of each vowel.

-Logos, Mantra, Theurgy, Samael Aun Weor

Meditation on the birth and death of a plant (Meditation-Astral)

The best exercise in order to attain Imaginative Knowledge is the following:

While seated in front of a plant, we concentrate on it until we forget everything that is not related with it. Then, by closing the eyes, we become drowsy and keep in our imagination the form, figure, structure, perfume and color of the plant.

The disciple must provoke drowsiness during these practices.

The disciple, while in drowsiness, will profoundly meditate on the internal constitution of the plant.

The disciple will imagine the living cells of the plant. Each cell possesses protoplasm, membrane and nucleus. The protoplasm is a viscose, elastic, and transparent substance, similar to the egg white (album-inoid matter). The disciple, while in drowsiness, must reflect upon the four fundamental elements in the protoplasm of the cell of the plant. These four elements are carbon, oxygen, hydrogen and nitrogen.

The membrane is a marvelous substance without color, a substance within which the water becomes totally insoluble. This substance is the well-known cellulose.

The disciple, while concentrated, will imagine the nucleus of the cell as a small corpuscle where the great universal life palpitates. The nuclear filament is within the nucleus, as well as the nuclear juice and the nucleolus which are all covered by the nuclear membrane. The nucleoli are infinitesimal corpuscles filled with brightness and beauty. These are residual products of the incessant reactions of the plant organism.

The disciple, while well-concentrated, must imagine with complete logical precision all of those mineral substances and organic combinations that are harmoniously unfolding within the cellular protoplasm of the plant. Let us think on the grains of starch and on the portentous chlorophyll, without which it is impossible to reach the perfect organic synthesis. The chlorophyll is presented in granulated form (chloro-leucite) as a very beautiful yellow color (xanthophyll) that becomes that precious green color of the plant while under the solar rays.

Every plant is a perfect cellular community with incalculable perfections. The student must meditate on the perfection of the plant and on all of its scientific processes. He must be filled with a mystic attitude and enchanted with so much beauty.

The mystic is in rapture when remembering all of the phenomena of nutrition, relation, and reproduction of each cell of the plant.

Let us see the chalice of the flower. Here are its sexual organs; here is the pollen, the masculine reproductive element; here is the pistil or gynoecium, a very precious feminine organ with its ovary, stylus, and stigma.

The ovary is a sack full of marvelous ovums. The stamen can occupy different positions in relation with the pistil, for instance, insertion beneath the ovary, insertion around the ovary, or above it.

Fecundation is verified with the function of the feminine germs and masculine gametes. After exiting the anther, the pollen, the masculine gamete, reaches the ovary of the plant where the ovum, the feminine gamete, is waiting with anxiety.

The seed is the precious and enchanted ovum that after being fecundated is transformed and grows.

Now the student should remember the step on which he is meditating. A sprout will emerge as a delicate bud; imagine it growing slowly, until seeing it with your imagination spreading branches, leaves, and flowers. Remember that everything that is born must die. Imagine the plant’s process of dying. Its flowers wither; its leaves dry and the wind blows them away. Finally, only a few twigs remain.

This process of birth and death is marvelous. By meditating on the whole process of the birth and death of a plant, by meditating on its marvelous life, if the concentration is perfect and a profound level of drowsiness is achieved, then the chakras of the Astral Body will spin, develop, and unfold.

Meditation must be done correctly. The mind must be exact. Logical thought and exact concept is needed for the purpose of developing the internal senses absolutely perfectly.

Every incoherence, every lack of logical and moral equilibrium obstructs and damages the evolution and progress of the chakras, disks, or lotus flowers of the Astral Body.

The student needs a lot of patience, because any act of impatience takes him into failure.

The student needs a lot of patience, willpower, tenacity, and absolutely conscious faith.

On any given day, within dreams or while in Meditation, a distant picture, a landscape of nature, a feature, etc. emerges. This is a sign that the student is progressing.

The student elevates himself little by little into Imaginative Knowledge. The student is unveiling the veil of Isis little by little.

On any given day, the plant on which he was meditating disappears. Then, a beautiful child who replaces the plant is seen. That child is the elemental of the plant, the soul of the plant.

Later, during a dream, he awakens his consciousness, then he can say, “I am in my Astral Body.” The Consciousness awakens little by little. In this way, the moment in which the disciple will acquire continuous Consciousness arrives.

When the student enjoys continuous consciousness, he no longer dreams; he can no longer dream, because his Consciousness is awakened. Then, even when the physical body is sleeping, he moves himself consciously in the superior worlds.

Exact Meditation awakens the internal senses and performs a complete transformation of the internal bodies.

Whosoever awakens Consciousness has reached Imaginative Knowledge. This one moves in the world of symbolic images.

The symbols that the student saw while he was dreaming he now sees without dreaming, as before he was seeing them with a sleeping consciousness. Now he moves himself among them with an awakened Consciousness even when his physical body is profoundly asleep.

When the student reaches Imaginative Knowledge, he sees the symbols but he does not understand them. He comprehends that all of nature is a living scripture that he does not know. The student needs to elevate himself into Inspired Knowledge in order to interpret the sacred symbols of Great Nature.

-Fundamental Notions of Endocrinology and Criminology, Samael Aun Weor
